A new Logo and a new Quest

General News

I realize this was relatively quick but I will be reappropriating this site from a personal blog to something more exciting.  My wife has convinced me to give this a try and while I am not going to let the cat out of the bag just yet things will slowly begin changing here.  The first step was the Logo.

Other changes will be content related and will mostly happen over the next couple of weeks when I hope to be ready to officially relaunch this site with a new focus.  So keep comming back to see the changes in progress, there will be a much more formal posting when the site officially relaunches.

LEGO Monorail

LEGO

LEGO Monorail is one of those things that I have always wanted but just never have had.  Seeing that LEGO hasn't made monorail for 18 years it was always out of my reach.  I still kick myself for not purchasing a monorail set when I had it in my hands when I was 16 but at the time I just couldn't get past the cool factor.  Now I don't even pretend to be cool and just do what I like.

A few months ago I started trying to win a few eBay auctions without a lot of luck until close to the Christmas holiday when I finally won a couple.  Once I had the basic base parts for a train and some track I had to think of something to build.  I came up with this orange trolly like train.  Interestingly the hardest part was finding a way to cover the motor (the middle section) and I ended up real happy with what I came up with.

I also have a pretty fair amount of track as well and showed this at the Greenberg Train and Toy show that NELUG participated in at the end of March.  I have the base parts for a second train but need to collect the parts.  Right now I am just considering color schemes.

Now if LEGO would just bring back Monorail...

Here we go...

General News

Time to get started.  For now this site will serve as a blog about me, Eric Kingsley.  I will blog about things I like, things I don't like, things that affect my life, and things that might affect yours.  You will see me write about my family, my LEGO hobby, the software that this site runs on which I love (glFusion), and within reason I will discuss my Job Search.

For now you can look at my résumé, and I have links to my LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter profiles.  Of course most of what you find there will eventually just link you back here because really, how much can you say in 420 or 140 characters?  Sometimes it is enough but too often it just isn't.

I have a goal of posting something every couple of days.  Can I do that?  I really don't know, but I am going to try.  Hopefully if I keep the subject matter broad I will have enough to talk about.

As for the site, the artwork is temporary, I hope.  One thing I am not is an artist.  I am trying to convince some of my friends who are to help me out.  I will keep you posted as to how that is going.

Keep comming back!
